Flower Update...

They were stunning...if I do say so myself!
As soon as I get the pictures, I will post them.

One woman there, Lesley, asked me if I was a floral arranger. I laughed and say no...just a conservator of money, so I do things myself. Well, come to find out she's a wedding planner and said they were beautiful and better than some she's seen done by professionals. Wow...what a neat thing to say to boost my already inflated ego!

Then, Colleen, E's teacher said she wants me to do the flowers for her daughter's wedding. I laughed and said...no way. She then preceded to tell me I had to "because I owed her!"
At that point, I said...oh, you're so right...big time! She's more than any parent could ask for in a teacher for their child. She turned me around 180 degrees...not only that...she turned E around too. I owe her, big. She's my fav.

Photographs

Had nothing better to do, hah hah, so I decided to get out my favorite photos. I took these in 97 in Vietnam and Laos. I love them. Maybe I'll start a blog just for them. As soon as I figure out how to make enlargements of the thumbnails...I will do it!

Flowers on the brain...

I'm so tired because I didn't sleep last night. Why? Because I blew it again and had caffeine, sugar and meat. Hey, if you're going to blow it...go all the way! But the show must go on so today will be a better day.

I'm all excited because I'm doing all the flower arrangements for the annual Teacher Appreciation Day Luncheon at E's school. I'm going to kick butt! It's going to be an Indian theme, ambiance & food wise, so I Googled flower arrangements for Indian ceremonies and found tons of gorgeous arrangements and ideas. Wouldn't you know it though, my David gave me the best idea. Jasmine garlands for the tables. I sure hope I can find them at the downtown flower mart...wish me luck! For the 2 super large arrangements on the food tables I'm going with huge orange Lilies, mixed with sunflowers and green fillers and fuchia orchid strands draping down the sides at the bottom. For the 12 arrangements for the eating tables I'm going to use orchids and lilies. Yum!

More later.

wow!

I miss her dearly.
I think about her everyday.
Everything I see, hear or say...reminds me of her.
Please forgive me, mom.
I love you. xoxoxo

me, myself & i

Well, I'm starting all over again because I lost my first blog that I started a month ago. Whoa is me. I was furious for about 10 minutes and then realized...why? I mean, really Les, get a grip. If I'm going to get upset about something, it should be for more than a lost blog, right?

I've been reading Marilu Henner's books on getting healthy and she's quite amazing. She thinks along the same line as I do as far as why it's so important to feed the body correctly for the sake of not only the body, but the mind and soul also.

I've cut out dairy, meat, alcohol (which I didn't really do anyway that much) and sugar. Of course, I feel the effects already. Clear headed, rather than spaced out...I sleep better, and the aches and pains are diminishing. It's hard to stop all these lifelong habits and I've gone off the wagon a few times, but I always feel physically terrible the next day, so they're becoming less and less.

Now I have to work on my smoking. My goal is to stop by August. Yeah, me!

Onward and upward!

peace,
love leslie
